Mason Jar Ring Polka Dots

The products used for this project were generously provided by Country Chic Paint but the genuine (and once in a while witty) opinions expressed are completely my own.

My one-and-only sister was getting rid of this change table that she had used for several of my nieces and nephews and I thought it would be perfect for painting polka dots on.  The wood was still in great shape, just scratched, so a coat of paint and some imagination was all it needed πŸ™‚wooden change table before being paintedI wanted to do something soft, fun and whimsical for this piece so began with several coats of Country Chic All-in-One Paint in Creme Brulee.  Creme Brulee is a creamy, milky yellow that is perfect for a baby’s room so was a great choice for the change table.  Country Chic Paint Creme BrûléeOnce the outside of the piece was fully painted and dried, I began creating a whimsical polka dot pattern on the top and sides.Country Chic Paint in Vanilla Frosting and Vintage CupcakeTo make the polka dots, I used Country Chic Furniture and Home Decor Paint in Vanilla Frosting and Vintage Cupcake. These two colours combined beautifully with the Creme Brulee to create the class and fun look I was going for.making polka-dots with mason jar ringsTo make sure the polka dots were all the same size and had nice, crisp edges, I used two sizes of Mason jar rings.  I laid the rings down on top of the yellow paint and used them as a guide to make each dot.  To get a little cohesiveness in the pattern, I used the larger ring for all of the pink dots and the smaller one for all of the white.using Country Chic paint to make polka dotsI continued making the polka dots, in a random pattern, all over the piece… except for on the drawer fronts.  The drawer fronts were left dot free so that the pattern wouldn’t be too overpowering.white and pink polka dots on a yellow painted change tablePink and white painted polka dots on yellow change tableI have to say that I had so much fun painting these polka dots!
