Another month is coming to an end and that can only mean one thing… it’s time for another amazing Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest! This month, the wonderful sponsor was Country Chic Paint and our theme was Bling Bling. This month we got to play with their amazing Metallic Creams and they were soo cool! The Country Chic Metallic Creams have a consistency that reminded me of a rich hand lotion and can be used in so many different ways to add a touch of bling to just about any surface. (You can see a project I did last week using some I had on hand here). I found this amazing dresser on the side of the road (I know right!) not long ago and despite its dilapidated look, I knew it was perfect for this ugly duckling to blingy swan story πTo begin its transformation, I painted it with two coats of the Country Chic Paint in Liquorice. Liquorice is a lovely, deep, matte black and it was perfect for the base. To add some bling, while honouring the age and style of the piece, I chose the Trigger Metallic Cream. I used a brush to apply the Trigger to the top, the front of the top drawer and then down the middle and edges. It was the perfect amount, and the design of the dresser lent itself beautifully to the Trigger highlighting. I wanted to do something special to the drawer fronts, but didn’t want them completely covered, so used the Metallic Cream with the [easyazon_link identifier=”B016VJIJ0Q” locale=”US” tag=”recredesig20-20″]Deco Art Americana Decor Stencil, Old French Script[/easyazon_link]. I am absolutely in love with how well the Metallic Cream and the stencil worked together and the subtle, shimmery enhancement it added was gorgeous. I added some Country Chic knobs to finish off the elegant look and I think adding that final touch of bling tied the entire piece together.I had so much fun with this piece! Bling doesn’t have to be gaudy and loud and this type of elegant bling is a gorgeous way to add a little fun and class to anyone’s room.
