It’s almost the end of the month and that means another project challenge! Did you see last month’s frame project? (see it here) It is almost time to use it and I can’t wait!
For October, our challenge was to incorporate buckets or containers into our decor. I have been collecting galvanized metal buckets for a while now and every time I see them I grab them; especially when they are free! I have two smallish ones that are old and worn but still beautiful and they were perfect for this project.
I also wanted to incorporate this gorgeous piece of reclaimed wood and thought it would make a great rustic background for the buckets.Having greenery and plants in my home has always been important. The buckets and wood, even though simple on their own, are the perfect combo to add some life to my kitchen. To hang the planter, the reclaimed wood was screwed into the drywall and then the buckets attached to the wood.
I just have to say how much I looove that mark on the wood from the old bracket. How pretty is that?! Not to mention every time I look at it I can’t help but wonder what purpose this piece of wood served in its previous life…To finish off my new old Farmhouse planter, I added some plants.
Since winter is just around the corner here, I added artificial plants for now. I am not sure how well a real plant will survive in this space so will wait until I find the right ones to add something live.I couldn’t be happier with how pretty the planter looks in that corner of my kitchen. It adds the perfect touch of rusticness and greenery.
Don’t forget to drop my bloggy friends, give them some love and check out their great bucket/container projects!
