Playing with FAT Chalk Style Paint

Have you tried FAT chalk style paint yet??  I hadn’t… until this past Sunday and oh what gorgeous colours!  FAT paint display at Bluebird Upcycle in Ottawa, ONI had not had the opportunity to try FAT paint before despite hearing about it for the past year or so.   If you have not heard about FAT paint, it is a cool Canadian paint that is thick and creamy and just oh so lovely. Bright, cheery and just beautiful to look at 😉 FAT colour chartI was instantly (as I usually am) drawn to the pretty shades of blue.  So, so pretty.  *sigh*

On top of having the lovely colours, the paint itself was great.  It is a nice thick paint that reminds me of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint but when it was dry, had none of the ridges that can come from chalk paint.  FAT has a smooth, sleek, modern finish.

I am definitely looking forward to using it on a piece of furniture and when I do, I’ll be sure to share how it compares.  Gorgeous blue/greens in FAT chalk style paintA huge thanks to Erin for such a lovely afternoon.  It was such fun getting to try a new paint.

And one last thing I just had to share from Erin’s studio… Sample colour birds of FAT chalk style paintthis super cool tree that her husband built.  I think I need one of these trees in my living room!  Oh my mind is whirling with all of the ways I could use it…  In Erin’s studio, she has little birds painted in each of the FAT paint colours hanging on it.  So cute!Colour sample birds for FAT paint at Bluebird Upcycle in Ottawa, CanadaTo see one of  Erin’s incredible dressers, check out the “Paint the Colours of a Canadian Fall {Black}” post.
