A Bespoke Teal Bookcase

Do you remember this vintage bookcase from way back here that I picked up on one of my drives around the Ottawa valley?  When I saw the bookcase I instantly fell in love with its size, lines and functionality so grabbed it as quickly as I could.

It patiently sat around for most of the Spring and Summer until finally getting its day in the sun this Fall.

Bespoke means to custom make something exactly to a personal preference with absolutely no level of detail or expense spared.  For me, bespoke goes even a step further to mean something personally gorgeous (custom) that speaks to your heart.

The vintage bookcase itself isn’t bespoke but the paint colour is.  I am not usually one to go crazy blending paints but this piece was yearning for it.

To create the bespoke layer of teal, Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Boxwood and Flow Blue were combined.

I have to admit that I am not a huge teal lover but this colour just makes me swoon.  So deep and so rich.  It seems to change in every light ♥♥

The icing on the cupcake so to speak was the stunning brass hardware.  I didn’t do a thing to it since it matched perfectly and was striking against the greens and blues!
