I have been playing a lot with IOD Decor stamps lately and thought I would share some smaller home decor projects you can make with the stamps. Back in the winter trimmed out a dresser using the grain sack set and if you missed it, you can see it here. This time I chose one of their alphabet sets to make some smaller signs. The letters are the perfect size and are reusable, thick and durable.
I honestly have to say that I didn’t think I would like them as much as I did. I couldn’t stop using them once I started stamping things out! 😉 It was so much fun. For all of the smaller projects, I opted for the decor ink and not paint. Using the ink was really easy. I just squirted some on the plexiglass plate, rolled it onto the foam roller and rolled the letters. (you can see that process here) I love how rustic and worm the letters look. The ink really added an authentic look that I don’t think paint would have. There are so many combinations that really your imagination is the limit to what you can do with just this set. Each piece of wood was either painted or stained with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint and then stamped once the paint was completely dry. You can see how different the signs are by simply changing the colour of the ink and paint. There are just so many possibilities!
My Favourite…
My favourite piece I made though was this little flower box. If you know me at all, you know how much I love fresh-cut flowers and having this little box with the jars ready to hold my summer blooms will be so handy. It is the perfect size to put on a mantle, window ledge or shelf. I can’t wait to fill it!
Oh… and if you are reading this and live in the Ottawa area, that beautiful rustic flower box is going to be a new class coming soon!! I can’t wait to make them with you all! I had so much fun with these stamps that I really am excited to pull them out again and keep creating!
A huge thank you to IOD for supplying the stamps and ink for these projects!
