It feels like summer is flying by way too fast. It always feels like that but this year seems exceptionally fast.
Summer started late because of lockdown and now I think there is a fear hanging in the air of a long, locked-down winter ahead. That, ever more than other years, is making us want to savour every moment of summer that we can.
Summer is not over yet though and we need to stop letting the dread of the winter ahead ruin the beauty of the present.
Take a look at your endless to-do list and let go of the things (for now) that do not absolutely need to get done. What can you put off until cooler climates prevail?
Can you give yourself a little leeway during this unprecedented summer to breathe and rest?
Summer is a time for slowing down, enjoying the moment, and rejuvenating your soul. This year more than ever, we need to remember that and not let the days slip by.
So, find your happy place, kick off our shoes, grab a good book, take a nap or jump in the lake, and just enjoy the beauty and freedom of summer before it is gone.
