Road Tripping for Treasures

This past week I had the delightful pleasure of spending a day with one of my very oldest and dearest friends road tripping for treasures around the Ottawa Valley. I had the intent when we left, of taking pictures along the way of my favourite places but… well… we were having soo much fun I forgot!
heather_lisa_road_trippingI did manage to remember to snap a pic of the first place we went (which happens to be one of my favourites!) and that’s were the pictures along the way stopped.
salvation_army_thrift_store Despite having no photographic evidence of the rest of the day, let me tell you, it was heaven.
We spent hours poking and picking through piles upon piles of rusty, chippy, dirty things…
We spent countless conversations discussing the possible “stories” of the old things we found…
and we spent a ton of energy doubled over laughing until we cried.
How could you ask for a better day?

I may have gotten so caught up in the day that I forgot to take pictures of my favourite places to find treasures for upcycling, but I did remember to take some of the incredible things we found!

vintage_finds_ready_to_upcycleOur road trip took through Smiths Falls, Perth, Carleton Place and Almonte and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day!  And, despite the fact that I have lots to keep me busy, I will be counting down the days until our next one πŸ™‚
