Getting Ready for the Christmas Season

Do you love Christmas as much as I do?  It may not feel anything like Christmas outside and it may still be over 2 months away, but I am already getting ready.
Christmas pillow using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint and celeryThis week I have been getting ready for Christmas classes and sales.  Joy Christmas pillow using milk paint and celeryI made a few of these Christmas pillows using this technique and am completely in love with how they turned out.  The milk paint colours are just so perfect.  They remind me of Christmas in a cabin surrounded by beautiful snow and a crackling fire burning to keep you warm.

{Signs}

wood made into Christmas signs When I had my milk paints out, I also worked on some new signs.  hand painted wood signsI really enjoy signs that are hand painted.  I have nothing against print and cut machines, but I find the signs made from those lack an authentic, old look.   Wood signs for Christmas painted with Miss Mustard Seed Milk PaintSpeaking of rustic and authentic, I found these gorgeous, old fold-up chairs a couple of weeks ago.  Guess where??  Yep… the dump! vintage folding chair

{Vintage Chairs}

vintage folding chairI was absolutely giddy when I saw them stacked there! Luckily I had just enough room in the car to load the best 6.

The wood has a gorgeous patina on it and they are in great shape.  I can just imagine them being used for meetings in a church or school back in the 1950’s.

They are just soo cool!  If only they could tell the stories of where they have been not to mention what they have seen and heard.  vintage folding chairs in natural woodHave you found anything cool lately that just made you giddy with excitement?  Those are the pieces worth cherishing for life! Joy pillow sitting on vintage folding chairI hope that you are enjoying your Fall and even though I was working on Christmas stuff this week, I am not ready for winter at all…
